What was the highlight of Dormy Inn Morioka

Exceptional

10-15mins walk from the main Morioka JR station but a close walk towards the Ishiwazakura and Morioka Castle Ruins. Dormy Inn always has larger than usual rooms. There is an onsen as well with both indoor and outdoor areas with ice pops avaliable with manga to read after a soak in the onsen.

Always enjoy the extra amenities at Dormy properties. No exception here. The men's onsen and laundry facilities were tops.

Nice hotel, central location, clean and adequate size rooms.

Good location - close to main shopping precinct and sites (eg Morioka Castle and Ishiwarizakura (The Rock-Splitting Cherry Tree)). We went for cherry blossoms and was worth the trip north. Clean. Free laundry facilities a bonus. Rooms are small but adequate. We are a family of 5 so had 3 separate rooms next to each other.

Affordable fun luxury in a great resort!

Open air onsen was wonderful, and free ice cream afterwards. Room had plenty of space for luggage, well planned room. Beds very comfy. Everything very clean. Staff friendly and helpful, check in easy. Easy 20 minute walk from station. Tourist information office at station gave us very clear instructions using lifts, etc to access road crossings.

Hotel is new and in excellent condition. The rooftop onsen was superb and really enjoyable and the little bonus touches such as free ice-creams or noodles at certain times

Morioka - not so hidden gem (thanks to NYTimes) and the best place to stay is Dormy!

Excellent location, amazing top floor artesian alkaline onsen (hot spring baths) and sauna facilities with separate portions for gentlemen and ladies, with yakult lactobacillus shooters in the morning and cold fruit or vanilla-chocolate popsicles in the evening as after onsen refreshments; free half bowls of ramen at night until 23:00, which are not too small at all; meticulous, friendly and effective housekeeping staff with daily options for cleaning/no-cleaning and fresh towel service. Clear and informative signage for first time onsen visitors, and attentive management who are responsive when there are any issues to resolve. Front desk was more than happy to accommodate a week-plus extension of our initial two night stay. Family friendly, great value for cost and within walking distance of central Morioka, the castle park, main street neighborhood dining and evening izakaya (drinking establishments with great skewers of tasty goodness). Don't miss the puppy cafe around the corner or the exotic owl cafe and Jajamen noodles downstairs of the wonderful Gusto Cafe.

We wish we could have stayed longer but had non-refundable reservations elsewhere. :p

Onsen is nice and breakfast is outstanding.

12 minutes walk is not so easy with luggage but acceptable. A map at the train station did not have Dormy Inn. Wonder why..

Very Good

Friendly staff, they tried their best to speak English to us. Affordable price with hot spring in city centre. Hot spring is good, large enough. Free Ramen in night time which taste good, Bathroom is large enough. Can put our luggage before check-in time.

The location is a bit far from JR station, which takes ~15 min walk (~20mins walk with luggages). A bit expensive compared with other hotels, perhaps with hot spring and other "free" food during specific time. No place for putting clothes in bathroom. One of the beds in triple room is sofa bed, the mattress is too hard and have sound when turn around.

Excellent facilities, good service and location.

Staff service is good. Public bath facilities are clean and provide snacks after a nice dip. Didn't try breakfast but the free soba supper is a nice touch. Relatively walkable distance from Morioka station or can take a bus and alight in front of hotel. Will definitely book again !

Room is on the smaller side. However having the onsen and free supper of hot hearty soba more than make up for it

Breakfast has local spread. There’s free soba noodle supper. Onsen is really nice with good toiletries and there’s ice cream and Yakult drinks
